Introduction and Goals

Dear reader,

You are now visiting the Documentation Center of Motor Praxiology. This Center intends to be a place for meeting, searching and discussion of the main topics related to this subject.

It’s been more than 30 years that the Professor Pierre Parlebas from Sorbona University in Paris, created the principles and the fundamental concepts of the motor action science.

This has been created to cover the need of a subject that shows ways of studying, investigate and interpret the physical practices from a global optic, since its distinctive characteristics.

The scientific and cultural dimension of the Professor Pierre Parlebas work in the field of the physical practices, games and sports, is comparable to what Ch. Darwin said in the field of biology, Mr. Freud in the field of psychology or K. Marx in the field of  economic politics. It will be possible to be more or less in agreement with this great thinkers, a lot of their thoughts has been and will be formulated, but the thing which is not permitted is its ignorance in manuals, books of promotion, scholarly scientific treatments, and even worst, in its supine ignorance of the Universities Centers.

The influence of P. Parlebas work in the diverse groups of investigations from Spain, and also other countries (France, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Tunize, etc.), originated that in these Centers each collectives has taken different initiatives, all at once complementary, in the study and application of the different expressions in the sport field, games or the motor practice in general. These iniciatives led to a propose of a regular contact among the investigators; this propose that started to become reality from 1995 on, in this date the first seminar in motor praxiology was organized in INEFC (Catalunya National Institute of Physical Education) in LLeida (Spain). Later on in Amiens (1996), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (1997), Barcelona (1999), A Coruña (2000), Madrid (2001) and Lleida (2002), places that were headquarters of the following meetings.

In the International seminar, hold in A Coruña, in November 2000, an agreement to activate this Documentation Center for all those who were interested to keep informed. and in constant communication about the main iniciatives and projects that are being developed by the Motor Praxiology.

In this way the visitor of this Documentation Center will be able to:
1. Access the web pages from the main groups of investigation
2. Be informed about the latest news and iniciatives that are being developed.
3. Be familiar with the foundation and the basic Lexus of the Motor Praxiology.
4. Consult the diversity of documents that correspond to bases and applications investigation of the Motor Praxiology.
5. Find the main publications that are been published in any country.
6.Exchange information about any subject that might interest the members of this Documentation Center.

Therefor, we have to consider that this Documentation Center belongs to any person, groups, labs and institutions that are interested in participate actively or are linked with projects developed in this area of the Motor Praxiology.
